SIMON'S FINAL JOURNEY
A Pilgrim walk
This year the Battle of Evesham Festival will be held on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of August. As part of this year’s festival, we are planning to walk part of the route taken by Simon before the battle, starting from British Camp, Malvern. It is likely that he called at Little Malvern Priory and crossed the River Severn at either Upton-upon-Severn or Clevelode. He stopped at the Bishop’s Palace, Kempsey, and at Pershore Abbey and these locations have been included on the route. The walk will be over three days:
Thursday 30th July – British Camp, Malvern to Kempsey – 13½ miles
Friday 31st July – Kempsey to Pershore – 12 miles
Saturday 1st August – Pershore to Evesham – 9 miles
We will arrive at the Battle Field to be welcomed by the battle re-enactors.
There will be a bus each day to transport the pilgrims to and from the walk.
We are looking for fourteen pilgrims to join us. If you are interested please get in touch via the Contact Form. Add the word Pilgrim in the subject section and indicate if you wish to complete the whole walk or participate on certain days. (Priority will be given to those who wish to walk all three days.)
